Michael Polychronopoulos is a nature and landscape photographer originally from Melbourne, Australia. Although he has qualifications in Engineering and Groundwater Science, Michael also has a passion for exploring natural environments. He has a connection to wild and remote landscapes with an attraction to alpine environments.

His collection of photos predominantly cover Alaska, Western Canada, New Zealand and Australia's southern and southeastern regions.

The majority of his photos were taken using large format 4x5 inch cameras (Linhof Technika IV and Ebony RW45) and to a lesser extent, use of medium format and 35mm film. His choice of film has been fujichrome velvia. He has recently begun exploring digital technology.

He hopes his photos will raise an awareness of the importance and an appreciation of wilderness and the natural world. His drawings have been sporadic over the years, but also aim to highlight this message. This website displays a selection of his work.
